Land's End

You can see starfish and sea urchins and small fish through the knee-deep water surrounding the planked walkway.

Every few minutes, a pelican makes a play for fish swimming too close to the surface. Pelicans are graceful in the air, but humble themselves when they crash face-first into the shallow flats.

You’re at the edge of the world and you feel fine. The sky opens up and the wind and the water softly pass underneath it - then you hear flip-flops on the deck.

Yep, it’s a round of piña coladas and frozen grapes to snack on.

It’s around 85 degrees at 11:00am and you’re about to shift to the hammock at the end of the walk.

The day is going swimmingly.
